Students from the Chinese mainland will be suspended from studying in Taiwan this year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and cross-Straits relations, the Ministry of Education said on Thursday.

教育部上周四表示，综合考虑当前新冠疫情防控及两岸关系形势，决定暂停2020年大陆毕业生赴台升读工作。

教育部港澳台办表示，已在岛内高校就读并愿继续在台升读的陆生（mainland students），可依自愿原则（on a voluntary basis）在岛内继续升读（continue their study）。
当务之急，要解决陆生返回台湾高校就读受阻（be prevented from returning to study at universities in Taiwan）问题，切实维护他们的正当权益（safeguard their legitimate rights and interests）。
大陆高校今年对台招生政策（policies on enrollment）不变，有关高校招生信息已在内地（祖国大陆）高校面向港澳台招生信息网发布（released online）。
