用作形容词时，young很易和另一形容词youthful混淆不清。

　　Youthful的意思是“少壮的”、“壮盛的”、“年轻力壮的”(having the qualities of young people)，它是个褒义词，表示美好的意味，特指精神、容貌、体力、热情等方面而言。例：

is a middle-aged man of youthful appearance.

　　Young除作形容词外，尚可用作名词，指动物的幼雏。例如：
