1.继续教育

继续教育(continuing education)是指给完成学校教育的人员—尤其是成人—提供知识和技能的教育。继续教育是正规教育的有效补充，是终身学习体系的重要组成部分。在中国，继续教育包括自学考试、函授教育(correspondent education)、夜间大学和电视大学(open university)，有传统的课堂教学和远程学习等多种授课方式。近年来中国的继续教育体系发展显著，然而，严峻的危机也日益显露，如师资短缺、课程和教学方法落伍。只有解决这些问题，中国的继续教育才能继续发展，满足社会需要。

　　1.在第二句话中，前一个分句“是正规教育的有效补充”，可使用“as+名词短语”结构，译为as an effectivesupplement to regular education;把第二个分句“继续教育是终身学习体系的重要组成部分”作为英文的主句。
　　2.在“在中国，继续教育有自学考试…等多种授课方式”这一句中有两个动词：“包括”、“有”。可以像参考译文那样将第二个分句翻译成with various teaching methods, such as…，也可以将此句译成两个独立的分句。
　　3.“近年来中国的继续教育体系发展显著”这一句话译成recent years have witnessed the remarkabledevelopment of China's continuing education system，使用了“时间/地点+witness”的结构，使句子更生动。
　　4.在“严竣的危机也日益显露，如师资短缺、课程和教学方法落伍”这句话中，可先译出“严竣的危机也日益显露”，即grim crises have emerged，再具体列举哪些方面的危机。

2.农民工子女教育

随着城市化(urbanization)进程的加快，越来越多的农民工(migrant worker)在城市里安顿下来。他们把子女接到城里来，希望孩子能接受到更好的教育。然而，这些农民工发现现实并不像他们预期的那么美好。城市公立学校的设施和师资远远不能满足大批农民工子女的需求。幸运的是，农民工子女的教育已成为政府议事日程上优先处理的问题。

提示：

　　1.第1句中的伴随状语“随着城市化进程的加快”可用介词短语with the acceleration of urbanization来表达，汉语中表范畴的“进程”可省略不译。
　　2.在第2句中，“希望孩子……”可处理成状语表伴随动作，译为hoping that...，也可用介词短语with the hopeof/that...。“他们能接受更好的教育”可译为句子their children can receive better education，但不如用独立主语结构 their children receiving better education 来得地道。
　　3.翻译第3句“这些农民工发现……不……那么美好”时要注意时态。本句叙述一般的客观情况，故主句的谓语“发现”用一般现在时;“预期”表过去的动作，可用过去时或现在完成时。而“现实不那么美好”是现在的状态，用现在时，译作the reality is not...。
　　4.第4句中的“满足......的需求”用短语meet the needs来表达，定语“大批农民工子女的”较长，处理成后置定语，用介词of引出，表所属，译作of the big group of migrant children。

3.大学生创业

近年来大学生创业(entrepreneurship)问题越来越受到社会的关注，因为受过多年教育的大学生属于高级知识分子，他们背负着社会的种种期望。在社会经济繁荣发展的同时，大学生创业也成为新气象。现代大学生有创新精神，有对传统观念和传统行业挑战的信心和欲望，而这种创新精神也成为大学生创业的动力源泉，成为成功创业的信心基础。大学生怀揣创业梦想，努力打拼，实现自己的理想，证明自己的价值。

提示：

　　1.越来越受到……的关注：有很多译法，可以灵活处理，如to attract an increasing attention from…也可译为befocused on more and more，文中翻译为 has paid more and more attention to.
　　2.背负着社会的种种期望：可译为bear expectations ofsociety.
　　3.创业：有很多译法，可以根据不同情况进行选择，文中译为establish a business，也可译为start one‘s ownenterprise.
　　4.传统行业：可译为traditional professions或traditional industries.
　　5.成为成功创业的信心基础：可以理解为“更有信心取得成功”，故译为be confident to achieve success.
　　6.怀揣…梦想：可译为bearing the dream of……，也可译为having the dream of……，这里用现在分词形式作状语。
　　7.实现自己的理想：可译为realize one‘s ideals，还可用to put one’s dream into reality表达。
