Feifei loves darts. Neil loves pizza. But what does it mean if you say you 'don't half' love something? Learn this useful expression in the programme.

Feifei: And today we're teaching a British slang expression – or maybe just half an expression!
菲菲：今天我们要教大家一个英国俚语，可能只是一半的表达！Neil: The phrase is not half. Two simple words – but you need to know what they mean when used together.
尼尔：这个短语就是not half。两个很简单的词，不过大家要知道这两个词一起使用时所表达的意思。Feifei: Let's try it out first and see if you can work out what it means. For example, Neil, you really enjoyed that pizza, didn't you?
菲菲：我们先来试试，看看你们能不能弄明白这个短语的意思。举个例子，尼尔，你很喜欢批萨，对吧？Neil: Not half! I love pizza. And Feifei, you love playing darts, don't you?
尼尔：非常喜欢！我爱批萨。菲菲，你喜欢玩飞镖，对吧？Feifei: Darts, not half! I play every night. So – what does not half mean? It means 'very much' in these answers. When I replied "not half" I meant: 'Yes, very much.' I really like darts.
菲菲：我非常喜欢飞镖！我每天晚上都玩。那not half这个短语是什么意思？答案就是“非常”。当我回答not half时，我的意思是：“对，我非常喜欢。”我非常喜欢飞镖。Neil: And do you?
尼尔：是吗？Feifei: What?

例句A: That party was awesome!
A：那个派对太棒了！B: Not half, mate. The music was incredible.

B：非常有用。Feifei: Ahh, that was a funny example. Now, before we go – let's teach a variation of this phrase.
菲菲：哈，这个例句真有趣。在我们结束本期节目之前，我们要教大家这个短语的另一种形式。Neil: In this version, we have not half followed by an adjective. For example: I just got back from Singapore. It's not half expensive.
尼尔：在这种形式中，我们可以在“not half”这个短语后面加形容词。比如：我刚从新加坡回来。那里的物价非常贵。Feifei: So – that means it's very expensive! Not half expensive. Similarly, if I were to say: "Your new haircut's not half nice, Neil!"
