Ryan: Troy Bolton was looking at our audition list.
Sharpay: Again? He was hanging around with that new girl andthey were both looking at the list. There's something freaky about her. Where did she say she's from?
Ryan: Wow! An Einsteinette. So why do you think she's interested in our musical?
Sharpay: I'm not sure that she is. And we needn't concern ourselves with amateurs. But... there is no harm in making certain that Gabriella's welcome to school activities that are... well, appropriate for her. After all, she loves pi.

莎佩：又看？他跟那个新来的女生混在一起，他们俩都在看名单来着。她这人总感觉怪怪的。她说她打哪儿来的？
瑞恩：喔哦！一个女爱因斯坦啊。你说她为什么会对我们的音乐剧感兴趣？
莎佩：不知道她是不是真的感兴趣。我们也没必要跟外行人磨记。不过……确保凯碧在学校某些……适合她的活动中很受欢迎也……没错呀。说到底，她可喜欢π了。

【口语解说】hang around/out

hang around其实是“在附近徘徊,荡来荡去”——around不就是附近、周围的意思么？这段剧情里面加上了with那就是“在某人周围荡来荡去、黏在某人周围”那样。
hang out呢在口语里面更常用，通常有一点点“约会”的感觉，但是没有date那么正式，适合那种稍微有点感觉、关系略比朋友暧昧一点的男女生一起出去玩。或者就是一群死党什么的逛街之类。它和around的区别就是它是“出去”的，out嘛。经常听到的一个词。
