在华服刑的GSK私家侦探提前获释

Peter Humphrey, the investigator jailed in connection with the GlaxoSmithKline Chinese corruption scandal, has been released after serving about two years, sources close to the Briton said.

知情人士称,因牵连葛兰素史克(GlaxoSmithKline,简称GSK)中国腐败丑闻而获刑的私家侦探韩飞龙(Peter Humphrey)在服刑大约两年后已获释。

Mr Humphrey was apparently freed on health grounds and is in a Shanghai hospital having tests relating to cancer.

英国人韩飞龙显然是出于健康原因被释放的,他目前在上海一家医院接受癌症检测。

A court reduced his sentence by seven months and he will be deported on his discharge from hospital, according to one source.

The corporate investigator was detained in 2013 with his American wife and business partner, Yu Yingzeng, who was sentenced to two years in prison in August. She is due for release on July 11 and will be allowed to stay in China, where prison sentences are calculated from the date of initial detention.

The Briton was charged under a 2009 law against obtaining personal information, which carries a three-year maximum sentence.
