Kate: Wow! What’s the hold up?

Taxi driver: It’s probably just people trying to get an early start out of the city for the weekend. Nobody sticks around in the summer.

Kate: Really? Then, I guess I won’t have a hard time finding a room or getting a cab?

Taxi driver: Actually, you might because there’s a big convention in town this weekend.

Kate: I’m not too worried about it. I always seem to find something.

hold up 指“塞住”的意思，此处指“塞车”。
