今天，我们来学习三种表示有能力做某，胜任某个职位或工作的表达法：

 表达法1：be able to do something，这是最最常用的表达法了，表示有能力，能够做某事：
I'm afraid I won't be able to make our date tonight.
恐怕今晚我不能来赴约了。
This complaint is too complicated; I don't see I'm able to handle it.
这个投诉太复杂，我觉得自己没有能力来处理它。
Are you able to solve this problem?
你能解决这个问题吗？

那么由be able to do something 演变一下的反义词，没有能力做某事怎么表达呢。太简单不多了，be unable to do something：
Tony is unable to meet the deadline of the report.
托尼无法按期交上这个报告。
This obstacle makes us unable to make any progress.
这个困境使得我们没法取得任何进展。

 表达法2：be qualified to do something, be qualified for something: 有资格（有能力）胜任或做某事：
She is highly qualified to be an English teacher.
她当英语教师很够格。
Your team is bound not to be qualified for the next round.
你的队伍注定不会晋级下一轮。
This applicant should be well qualified for this job.
这位应征者应该完全具备这项工作的条件。

 表达法3：Be competent in + 名词/动名词， 有能力做某事，能胜任某事
She is competent in the discharge of her duties.
她善于履行职责。
We know you are competent in managing this project.
我们知道你可以胜任管理这个项目.
There are a lot of doctors in our hospital, only a few of whom are competent in their work.
我们医院有许多医生，其中只有少数是称职的。
