cotton on 理解

【讲解】

cotton on是英国英语中的一种非正规的口语表达方式，意即“理解,懂得”，其后面往往跟 to something。 例如：At last, she’s cottoned on to what they mean.(最后她终于明白了他们的意图。）再例如：He’d been speaking for half an hour before I cottoned on.(他讲了半个小时,我才明白他的意思。）

A:Mary, could you help me with this problem?

A：玛丽，能给我讲讲这道题吗？

B:Sure, Ah, our teacher has explained it in class, hasn't he?

B：当然可以。啊，这道题老师上课不是讲过了吗？
